Horse Tack Identification

Tack identification serves several purposes, the two most prominent being a deterrent for theft and the second for returning stolen property.

When correctly marked tack is stolen, and the thieves realize that it is identified, it is often left behind with only unmarked items removed. Use easily identifiable markings (as is described in the accompanying brochure) that any police force can determine ownership of saddles and any other tack. Any leather products can be marked with stamps obtained from most automotive stores. The most recommended identification is your driver's licence number preceded by the letters of your province.
